Taylor Swift became a popular singer and songwriter beginning in 2001, with her songs about heartbreak. Swift began to show an enthusiasm for the industry of music as early as age. Her career progressed rapidly from children's play roles, through her first public appearance in front of thousands. Swift was only 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. Following that, she began writing songs, and also started playing the guitar. Swift made original music that was inspired by the country artists like Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material reflects her experience of being an adolescent. Swift left Pennsylvania with her family and moved to Tennessee, Hendersonville. she turned 13 to devote her time to courting bands of the country genre in Nashville.
